Passing the Time

Daddy's hat and Mommy's shoes

Zo and I had a small picnic in the backyard since the weather has been so beautiful

40 Weeks

I have thought along this pregnancy that this baby would be at least a few days early. Guess I was totally wrong because we are now going on 3 days past due. Zenobia was 3 days past due but I went into labor 2 days past due. I just can't imagine being too much later with my second baby. I actually feel great and am still able to do most everything I need to so I'm not complaining. I (and everyone else too) am getting really anxious to meet this little one and find out if it's another baby girl or a baby boy. I have decided to quit putting timelines on the birth of this baby and sit back and enjoy my last few days of pregnancy and Zenobia being the center of our attention. I see my midwife tomorrow and will see if I have made some progress since a week ago. Through all the mild contractions I have been having I better have made some progress!!!

Mimi's Visit

A couple weeks ago my mother came up to help me clean and get ready for the new baby. She was on spring break, although it may have not felt like a break to her. We kept very busy between cleaning, errands, and taking care of Zenobia I wouldn't call it restful. But she helped me get a lot done! It was so nice to have her although the time went too fast. Here is Zenobia and Mimi playing while mommy is doing some cleaning.

It's the Little Things

A few weeks ago we got a package in the mail and surrounding the item was a box full of styrofoam peanuts. I'm sure you can guess how they got put to use. Zenobia absolutely loved playing in them and it has occupied her a few times while I've been cleaning or cooking. I gave her a bowl, a couple measuring cups, and a wooden spoon and she used her imagination to "cook". Thank goodness for styrofoam peanuts!

Easter

38 Weeks

Only two more weeks to go......or so. The countdown has begun!! I finally feel ready since my mom helped out last week. My mom came up and stayed with us for a week since she had spring break off. It was so nice to have her here to help with some cleaning and baby prepping. We got it almost done except for a couple things which I will be able to do this week. This pregnancy has flown by and I can't believe it's already time. Everyone is getting excited to not only meet the newest member of the Burgess family, but to find out if it's a boy or girl. Zenobia keeps asking to hold the baby and I have to tell her the baby is still growing in my tummy and we have to wait a few more weeks. She is so fascinated with babies and can't wait to see ours but not sure what she will think when the baby is here 24/7 and our attention isn't totally on her. I know there will be a lot of adjusting but I believe Zenobia will be an awesome big sister. Stay in touch for some more baby news!!!

Thanks Auntie Lanie

Veggie Tales!!!!

Zo really wanted to break into her butterfly lollipop but Mommy wouldn't let her quite yet. She was sure trying though!

Auntie Lanie is always on top of it when it comes to holidays. Whether it be Zenobia's first birthday or Halloween, Melanie always sends a package of goodies for her little niece. Zo is right at the age where she really enjoys presents and surprises. Here are some pics of Zenobia opening her Easter package from Auntie Lanie.
