Happy Birthday/Shower

It was my birthday a couple weeks ago and I was surprised by a mini baby shower Eugene threw me when I got home from work at 11:30 at night. Eugene strung streamers from our entry way (which dangled on my head when I walked in) to the baby's room. He had streamers all over with newborn boy outfits and diapers hung around the room. No, this doesn't mean we are having a boy-just prepared if the baby is a boy. Still a surprise and we intend to keep it that way since we've made it this far. It was a nice surprise since I hadn't even bought diapers yet and Eugene knew I had wanted to get a few starter boy outfits just in case. We are totally set if it's a girl, but only a have but a couple gender neutral outfits if it is a boy. The nursery at the time was still in transition from Zenobia's room to the baby's room so don't mind the mess or all the pink and purples you see.

Fun Pics

Hey Mom, Can we go to church now?

Little Diva-wearing her dress up heels and taking her bear shopping. Not sure why, but she just had to push up her leggings.

Zenobia dressed herself in this one day when I was cleaning and had a load of laundry just sitting there ready to be folded. The skirt is inside out although it looks pretty cute that way. I had to help her a little with her shirt and slippers but the whole ensemble was her pickings.

Wearing a head towel just like Mommy and Mimi

Pwaay

Zenobia has known since she was 16 months old that we pray before every meal. At that time, if we forgot she would remind us by saying "pway" and folding her hands in front of her and bowing her head. She has become quite the little prayer as of recent. The other night as she led Eugene and I to her bedroom to go to sleep, she knelt down by her bed, folded her hands and said "pway, Momma, Dada," and pointing for us to kneel with her. Eugene said, "You want to pray?" And off she went, "Dear Jesus, thank you for this day, love you, ahmen." (Not so clear but we knew what she was saying!) Zenobia still reminds us to pray before meals but now, she insists we all hold hands since that is what we do when we are at Mimi's and Papa's. She holds her little hands out to us so we all connect. Zo is really respectful at prayer time and is even starting to close her eyes more instead of staring at everyone. This is really helpful at my small group when she won't stay in the nursery. At least she already knows to be reverent in prayer!
