Nine Months

Oatmeal face

Riding her car while watching the Steelers play

She loves the train and especially the fun balls

At her first attempt, she couldn't figure how to eat the second part of the puff after taking a bite while the second bite was still in her fist. So she decided to stick the whole puff in her mouth and just chew it down. Little smarty pants!

After a bath, trying to get a pic of how long her hair is straight(past her ears) but it curled up too fast!

In a week, on Feburary 7, Zenobia will be 9 months old. She is getting so big and growing up so fast. Her latest thing now is waving and clapping. Whenever music comes on or she gets excited about something, she'll clap. If I sit her on my lap facing me, she'll start to clap and play "Pat-a-cake". Of course when we want her to wave she doesn't, but she does wave at us when she sees us across the room. And right now, as I am typing, Zenobia is trying to crawl up onto the file cabinet. She loves to crawl over and on top of things and her new thing is climbing the stairs. Since she crawled up and into the dishwasher, I taught her how to climb the stairs. Now, we need to work on going down them safely. She is also pushing her little car around the house. She just loves to have the freedom to walk wherever she wants to go (well almost everywhere). Zenobia has been getting braver and starting to let go of the furniture when cruising around. The balance isn't quite there-but almost! And then there's the food-this girl loves to eat! So far she has liked just about everything we have given her. She is doing well with finger foods and like me, loves cheese!! Even though she doesn't have any teeth yet, she does a good job "chewing". But, we can't eat in front of her without putting something down for her to eat. She will go crazy if we're eating and she's not. Time has gone by so fast and we are trying to cherish everyday with her because we know, this age will pass to fast.

Helping with the Dishes

While I was unloading the dishwasher I had a little curious monkey right under me. I had my back turned to the dishwasher putting some dishes away and when I turned around, Zenobia had her knee on the door of the dishwasher. Our little explorer, she's moving faster everyday now!

Flower Girl

We totally forgot to take pics of Zenobia in the sleigh at the wedding, so I had a photo shoot for her. Here are a few pics from that.

Melanie and Brian's Wedding

A couple weekends ago I gained a brother-in-law, Brian Sweatt. (Did I spell it right this time Brian?) My sister is now Mrs. Sweatt-yes that's right-Sweatt. It fits her all too well!! The wedding was gorgeous but not as gorgeous as Mel. She was glowing that day and was such a beautiful bride. They married in Dayton at my Dad's church with my Dad officiating. Of course, my Dad did a great job on the ceremony. I was the matron of honor and Zenobia was one of the flower girls. All she had to do was sit in the sleigh (being pulled by Jordan the ringbearer-2 1/2 yrs-her second cousin) and look pretty. I was trying to teach her to blow kisses so she could do that down the aisle-but no such luck. (We're getting there though) The other flower girl, Izabella-also 2 1/2-, followed the sleigh and sprinkled petals. All three did a great job!!! I don't have pics of them coming down the aisle but hopefully the photographer did. Here's a few pics!!

First Christmas

Giving her babydoll "luvs & kisses"

Us adults sure had fun watching Zenobia open her gifts. Well, ok, she really didn't open them-but she made a good effort. She did actually tear some of the wrapping paper off and as most babies-she was more interested in the paper and ribbons than the gift itself. We celebrated with my parents and Grandfather at our house. It was a fun time, although Zenobia was sick. Earlier in the week she ran a temperature for almost 3 days. It broke on Christmas Eve and in the morning of Christmas-she broke out in hives. Her poor face, neck, and torso were covered in little red welts. We still aren't sure why she came down with the hives but think it was related to the virus she had. All in all it was a great and quiet Christmas.
