Get Ready Mom & Dad....

Just want to get my butterly
Such determination......up on her toes!
She's trying to grab her shadow-although you can't see it in the pic
Off the blanket........again
There's her butterfly-going after it once again

.....because here I come!!!! Zenobia is almost crawling and we can't believe it!!! She scoots herself in a complete 360 degree circle when she's on the floor. I'll lay Zenobia on her tummy on the floor facing the fireplace and before you know it she's facing the complete opposite direction. She's also been maneuvering herself off the blanket as well by using her arms and feet to push and pull to get around. Her motivation is the butterfly Grandmama and Pop pop gave her. It is adorable with flapping wings, nursery songs, and a cute waddle-Zenobia's favorite toy. The last couple days she has really been getting herself up on her hands and knees(rocking) and propels herself forward by scooting her knees a little and also piking her heiny up in the air and pushing off her toes. It may take her a while but she usually gets what she wants.....the butterfly!

5 months old

On October 7 Zenobia turned 5 months old. Hard to believe she is almost half a year old already. She is almost sitting up by herself, she can balance really good and then she gets excited about something and her whole body wiggles and she throws herself back. So far we have only had one incident of her head banging on the floor. Zenobia is also getting ready to crawl! Lately she's been up on all fours rocking back and forth and then piking her little heiny up in the air and pushing off her toes to get the toy she wants. Next week she will be starting her first solid food, rice cereal. I will definitely keep you posted as to how that goes. She is also rolling over but not nearly as much as she is up on all fours. She really doesn't care to roll over-she prefers being on her tummy. And of course she's smiling, laughing, cooing, and squeling like crazy. In the mornings she wakes up smiling and cooing and sometimes even squeling with that high pitched little voice. For those of you who know that I am not a morning person, well guess what!? Zenobia has turned me into one and I even wake up smiling. She is such a joy and blessing in our lives.
