Zenobia's Dedication
Over Labor Day weekend Zenobia was dedicated to our Lord, Jesus Christ. My dad performed the dedication and did a wonderful job! It was very neat and we are honored that my dad was able to do it for his first grandchild. The ceremony was really touching and we had blessings for Zenobia from the church members as well. I just have to add that Zenobia was awesome through the whole thing! She didn't even fuss at all and most of the time just stared at Dad as if she was really understanding him and knew what was going on. She did get squirmey when we prayed over her and Dad, Eugene, and I layed our hands on her head. She likes to keep her curls looking good of course! Thank you Dad and also a special thanks to all of Dayton Nazarene Church (my home church). Below this post is our blessing and prayer for Zenobia. Here are a few pics

Our Prayer for Zenobia
Dear Heavenly Father,
We would like to start by thanking you for our precious daughter Zenobia Maelynn. We pray that you give us the strenght and spiritual guidance for Zenobia. That she may grow up knowing and loving you, that her desire to seek you first during good times and bad will be magnified tenfold. We pray that her passion to love for others be through the eyes of Christ and her self confidence come from knowing that God loves her no matter.
In Proverbs 22:6 you said "train a child in the way he should so that when he is old he will not turn from it." And in Mark 10:14-15 you said "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth; anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
Well Jesus, Melissa and I plan on doing just that. We understand that Zenobia was your daughter first, just as you belonged to your father. We accept the gift and plan on teaching her Christ-like ways for that she will inherit the kingdom as promised.
Luke 1:78-79, "Because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from Heaven to shine on those living indarkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace."
We love you, we worship you, and magnify in all you do, have done ,and will do in our lives.
In your son Jesus Christ name,
Amen

Mommy's Little Helper
A couple weeks ago I was able to go part-time at work. That cut down my hours from 40 to 20 per week. It's been so nice to be able to be home more with Zenobia. She's been my little helper as you can see (as much as possible). We've been having a lot of fun together during the day. A week after I cut down my hours I was hired for a new job. I will be starting in a week at Sacred Heart Medical Center. SHMC is a big hospital here and will be working on the neurology floor as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC). I will be working 20 hours per week and on the evening shift. So we won't have to have childcare anymore. We are so excited about that, although our babysitter has been great with Zenobia. She will be only with Mom or Dad and I think that will be great for all of us. So if you get a chance, pray for us as we make this transition. The first few fews I'll be training which will be full-time and am not looking forward to that. But after that it'll be great we pray!
Our New Home
In May we purchased our first home together! We moved in 2 weeks after Zenobia was born. Yes, it's crazy, but it worked out just fine with the helps of wonderful friends and family. We were aiming to move in before Zenobia was born, but had a couple bumps in the home-buying process. It was truly a blessing from God and know that He had His hand in this the entire time. It has been a crazy summer with a newborn, new home, and tons of visitors-but we've enjoyed it thoroughly. We are loving our new home and would love to have you visit. Give us a call-we have plenty of room for overnight visitors!
