Second Cousins

Wiped out from all the hard playing with cousins.

My cousin Sheila and her family came over to Mel's for dinner one night and the kids got to play together. Zenobia loved Rayleigh (Sheila's 5 year old) and Kyron (Sheila's 7 year old) loved the babies. It was fun to visit with Matt and Sheila and watch the kids play together.

Fun Times in Kansas

Melanie took us to a children's museum where you can paint your own pictures, make little booklets, color, stamp, use wax under black lights to create a picture, a sound booth, and a few other fun things for kids. Zenobia loved it and I loved watching her do all the fun things.

Visiting Calliope

The kids and I went for a week long visit to Melanie and Brian's in Kansas to see my new niece. Zenobia and I were so excited to meet Calli! A couple days before we left both the kids got sick (a really bad cold) and Z'Khari's turned into croup. I was able to get into the doctor and Z-man got a steriod shot and our wonderful pediatrician recommened some great cold medicine. I almost called the trip off because I didn't want to get Calliope sick, but Mel and Brian were sure she would be fine. Fortunately Calli didn't get sick at all and we all had a great time.

So Sweet!

New Family Member

On Valentine's Day we welcomed another "Simmons" into the world. (Really a "Sweatt" but with Simmons blood. ha ha) Zenobia and Z'Khari got a new baby cousin, Calliope Kaylynn! It was very exciting and we went to visit her in Kansas when she was just 3 weeks old.

It was hard to do a photo shoot with a newborn, a crawler, and a 2 1/2 year old. We couldn't get them to sit still or not cry all at once!

Valentine's Day

Mekhi came to visit for a week in February right before Valentine's Day so we decided to celebrate early. Mekhi and Zenobia helped make valentine cookies and a valentine chex mix. Then we had a heart shaped pizza for dinner with a "Love Potion" drink and a heart cherry poke cake for dessert. It was fun to celebrate with Mekhi.

It has been a lot of fun watching Zenobia and Z'Khari play together lately. Zenobia is definitely a big sister and little mommy with him and Z'Khari just admires his big sister. As Z'Khari gets older they are able to play a little more together and they both love it. Zenobia can get Z'Khari laughing like no one else can. It is just precious!
